Just a question for everyone, I've been really following my diet & watching what I'm eating along with exercising everday..something I wasn't doing before. I weighed myself & my weight went up 2lbs, has anyone else's weight ever gone up & then maybe went back down? I just don't know how I'm eating right & exercising & the weight isn't going down?..

Its very normal for weight to go up and down. Weight loss is not exactly linear as we would like it to be. If you are accurately measuring your calories and accurately measuring your exercise calories burned then most of the time when the weight goes up it is merely due to sodium causing water retention.

This is an excellent opportunity to relook at your eating plan, remeasure (or start measuring) your portions. Check your fluid intake, maybe switch up your exercise a bit if you're doing the same thing all the time. If all of that is good, then it's most likely just a bit of a hiccup and you will start on the way back down again.

Another thing to look at is how close you are to your macros. I had found initially in my weight loss I was able to be lax with my macros and I still lost. As I got closer to goal, I had to pay more attention to those as well.

    Hope this is helpful!

I'm going through the same thing right now. I weigh 2 lbs more than I did on Monday (sudden jump). I weigh myself every day, and I normally don't worry about a 1 lb gain or so...just chalk it up to scale fluctuations or sodium intake on a particular day, and then the next day I'd be back on track. But 2 lbs is more than usual, and despite being under my calorie goal for the past three days, I'm not losing those two pounds. Kind of a bummer because I wanted to be at 50 lbs lost by the end of August, but now I know I won't make my goal. Just going to keep going and hope this is only a temporary setback.

It's recommended to only weigh yourself once a week and also to do measurements. Also, there are non scale victories to take into account ie. feeling healthier, clothes looser etc: http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/422195_10151011921351356_1034545764_n.jpg

I understand, I battle the two pound issue all the time. Down, up. Then down lower, then up again. There are so many factors that come into play. Are you drinking enough water to flush the sodium out of your system? Have you been strength training? Because muscles hold water to repair themselves and this can add weight. I have found that if I take a two or three day break from working out the scale goes down a bit. Are you eating ENOUGH??? People believe that 1200 calories is the golden rule for losing weight and I really am becoming a believer that it is NOT. Especially if you work out every day. Maybe try increasing your calories a little and see what happens. I'm not an expert, these are just tips I've picked up along the way to keep me from pulling my hair out.
