200ml per cup, so 2 litres in total... i personally drink alot, more like 3-3.5litres, but dont worry if you cant drink all 8 cups, as you get some water from your food, again you should drink a couple of extra cups when you work out!

    8 x 8 ounces = 2 quarts

Continuing studies have changed the thinking here but it's still a good reminder/baseline!

    In the US-- that is 64oz, 8 x 8oz
  • Thank you both for your help.
  • 8 8oz cups of water a day. To make it easier just find a jug, big bottle, etc that contains 32 oz and just drink at LEAST 2 of those a day. Remember our bodies are mostly water and we need it more than anything. It'll flush out toxins from losing weight as well as keep you fuller so you don't eat as much. Sometimes we mistake "hunger" for thirst.
  • Everyone's body is different. I only drink 6 cups a day, but when I'm exercising regularly (I'm a ballerina) I drink between 10 and 12, because I sweat so much.

What you want to do is look at your hydration level, and the easiest way to do that is take a peek in the toilet first thing in the morning. Yellow= drink 2-3 more cups than you did yesterday. Clear=you're right on track.
  • So if i drank 3 pints a day that would be sufficient then?
