P90x: Gain lbs doing 1st Week?

I am coming up on the end of my first week of doing P90X, and I stepped on the scale to see that I gained 1.5lbs..... Has anyone else experienced this doing P90X? Is it my diet or something I am doing wrong, or is it normal?

    its normal your gaining muscle which is really good :)

    If you are just starting P90x it is normal for your muscles to retain water as they repair themselves... perhaps that is what is happening. But what do I know... really!!

    I am also about to finish week one and have gained about the same amount of weight. It is frustrating but it is just the beginning. The added muscle will help burn the fat faster as you progress.

    this is why they say the scale is NOT your friend, but pictures speak 1000 words. I hope you took your day one pic, because if you stick with it, YOU WILL be like, damn... I look good...

    You'll gain weight the first week or two, but ignore that.

    Trust how you feel and the changes in how your clothes fit. The scale will start moving soon.

    Uh...not in a week.

    Depending on your lifestyle, it's probably your body holding water for use in repairing muscles that aren't used to the training you've started..
