I donated blood for the third or fourth time today. I know when you do that, you're not supposed to exercise, but what about food? Do you eat extra food to make up for everything you've lost?

    I think fluids are key.

I tried to play floor hockey after once, I lasted 5 minutes before getting light headed and dizzy.

I don't purposely go out and eat extra food, but if I'm hungrier than usual I will eat more. A few hundred extra calories today won't make a difference to your weight loss, and it's important to take care of yourself.

And yes, drink plenty of fluids!

You need about 500ml extra fluid. And just eat if you're hungry but i wouldn't worry about having to eat more than usual.
I wish i could give blood. Im o negative but they won't take it! Very frustrating! X
