I just ordered the Polar FT4 heart rate monitor from Amazon and am awaiting it's arrival.

So what will I need to know before it gets here? :huh:

Follow the instructions for set up and go.

Make sure you thoroughly wet the fabric pads on the chest strap when you use it. I think a lot of people miss this instruction and end up with a not so good reading.

This thread has some great info for setting it up to better account for your fitness level.
