Calorie consumption through the day

Hi all,

My daily target is 1700 calories. By mid-afternoon, I have usually consumed 1000 calories (400 - breakfast, 400 - lunch, 200 - snack). I still will have 700 calories to go plus whatever calories I have burned in exercise.

I'm interested to find out how your calories consumption goes through the day and what has worked or not worked.

Thanks!

I stick to 1200, but usually get an extra 200+ with exercise. I try to stick to around 250 to 300 per meal, and my snacks (2 a day usually) are about 100 to 200 calories a piece.

I eat very little until about noon-1pm, then I typically have about 1/3rd of my calories, give or take. Then I eat a buttload of food at night up until I go to bed.

Here's the bonus piece of info: Given the same TOTAL INTAKE for the day, you can partition those calories however you want and it will not make a difference in total weight loss.

That's about what mine looks like but I don't get that many. I think you should have another snack or add 50-100 each meal. Just a suggestion.
  • Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking that I should consume most of my calories early in the day and gradually taper down consumption towards the night/sleep time.

I eat a small breakfast, lunch, and snacks, then have a larger dinner and eat the rest of my calories after that.

You should base this on personal preference entirely. Given the same calories, it makes no difference in terms of total weight lost.
