Wondering if I should switch up my routine

For six weeks I've been working out six days a week - 3-4 days of hour+ classes that combine cardio with weights (HIIT), one day of cycling for around 45 mins with my husband, toting our kids, 1-2 days of Kenpo X. This past week I started doing 30DS in the afternoons, because I feel like my progress is fairly slow.
I love my classes. I see myself progressing, getting stronger, and everyone (except me, heh) that attends looks awesome. It doesn't bore me, so I've been able to stick with it. However, I am wondering if I should switch things up and just do a few days of strictly weights.
The only weights I do are in class, and reminiscent of 30DS - in between bouts of cardio, and I've worked my way up to a 20lb body bar, 8lb dumbbells for my light weights, 12 for my heavier weights. I'm thinking this isn't what is meant by heavy weights - however in class, we do a few sets with usually 12-16 reps.
I think I will feel lost if I go in the weight room. I have NO idea where I should start, or where someone tends to start at my fitness level. Kinda afraid of making an a** out of myself, and then never going back. I guess I am just looking for some advice or support - thanks.

Check the link below. Buy and read the book. My wife read it and walked into the weight room doing barbell squats, bench press, overhead press, deadlifts with little instruction from me. Just cues and form checks.
