HRM for aquafit

Do any of you use a HRM for this? The Polar Im looking at getting says it's water resistant, however I dont want to ruin it by wearing it for 45 mins of aquafit classes in the pool ..
Is this safe?

I wear my Polar FT4 for swimming, works just fine. You need to rinse the strap after using it in the pool
