New ways to avoid refined carbs/sugar

I've noticed that foods such as cereal, bread, pasta, rice and sugary things tend to send me on a binging rollercoaster. I'm really trying hard to avoid them but because I've been eating those sorts of foods my whole life I really need some new ideas! Anyone got any advice?

I'm currently eating oats, fruits and vegetables for my carbs and not a lot else. I am somewhat lactose intolerant so dairy isn't a good option.

    Thank you, apart from excluding legumes, the diet sounds great! Definitely something to think about.
