At a plateau!! Meal ideas needed for upcoming week!

Hi everyone! I am 5'8" and I started out at 196 back in January. I am now at 169 and have been at 169 since May. My goal weight is 145-150. I have been backsliding a bit (eating all the wrong foods) and just really doing enough to maintain, but I want to see if you all can help me with getting this process going again. Could anyone give me a sample meal plan for a week so I can make this happen?? That way I can get everything I need at the grocery store and prepare for the week rather than settling for what's in the fridge/pantry. Thanks in advance!

Depending on your calorie goals: You really need to shock your system and try different work outs and eat more. I know it sounds counter productive, but it worked for me.

I don't think I could give you a plan for a whole week but I will suggest visiting a website. Skinnytaste.com comes up with meals that are low calorie but have a great taste. I would recommend starting there. I pin the recipes that I want to try on Pinterest and then add comments on things that I changed or added.

I do Zumba 3-4 days a week, work on my elliptical at home at least 2 days, and usually take one day off. My doctor suggested me step up my elliptical workouts with intervals of intense to slow, intense to slow. So I'm going to try that. Zumba offers something different every time I go and at 3 of those classes, the instructor incorporates lots of weights! I love it! Exercising can be easy for me to alter, but food is SO important to me (lol) and I have a hard time breaking away from what I'm used to eating and what I like. So if you all have suggestions of pretty filling breakfast, lunch and dinner ideas, I'm game!! Thanks! :)

I don't have a meal plan but I started a 21 day sugar detox 4 days ago and have lost 4 pounds so far. It's amazing how much you can lose when you cut sugar out of your diet. I've been eating protein and veggies. I've been drinking water with slices of lemon or getting unsweetened tea.

Great ideas! I would have a hard time with letting go of sugar as I could totally eat desserts ALL the time! lol

I just got over a plateau. This is what worked for me - I was eating a net of about 1400 calories, and then I stopped losing for like a month and a half. I went on maintenance cals for about 1-2 weeks and then dropped my calories to a net of 1600 a day. i am steadily losing again =)

When you say you "went on maintenance cals for about 1-2 weeks" do you mean you upped your calories by quite a bit and then dropped them back down to 1600?

I have a sweet tooth too but I've been slowly weaning myself off of sweets. Then I decided to go cold turkey and so far it hasn't actually been that bad. It's mind over matter. The only thing I miss is being able to have fruit.

Yes that is exactly what I mean. I was netting probably around 2200-2400 calories a day for two weeks. So not quite maintenance but still a lot. Then I dropped to 1600 a day (net, I eat back exercise cals) And so far the weight is melting off again. Im quite a bit bigger than you, so your calories numbers probably wont be the same, but i hope you get the idea.

And again, this is just what worked for me. Good luck!

When I hit a plateau back in June this is what I did-
I stayed with my 1200 calories per day, but incorporated green smoothies into my diet. Basically, green smoothies are smoothies made with a base of spinach or other greens. I would use about 3 cups of spinach and 2 fruits of choice. I'd have at least one a day sometimes two. These smoothies made me lose 8 lbs in 2 weeks! Now Ive lost 11 lbs since June. Visit greensmoothiegirl.com for more info. Good luck.
