I don't care if anyone feeds into my need to put this in writing, but I have lost 10 lbs since November 6th (effectively a month) and I have so much more muscle than before. My arms, my shoulders, my abs, they're all just new and awesome and I am moving at a fine and steady pace to my goal weight... currently 190 but more likely I'll be shooting for 180 or so. Not to mention, I certainly lost a couple of inches in places and I can't seem to find them... :p but I'm not looking to get them back anyway!

And the best part, I didn't have to give up my Taco Bell addiction! I have however made considerable changes to that when I do eat it which has helped. I know this loss couldn't have been done had I kept on doing what I was. But along with the TB, I don't necessarily refuse myself treats or even eating out, but I just change how I do it.

One quick story that my cousin likes to mock me for; last week he surprised me at my house and said "Let's get lunch." So I said "Fine" and he wanted to go to Arby's. I saw their nutritional info and saw pretty much nothing on it that was even decent. 350 cals for a regular roast beef sandwich? That's too many calories for too little food. I'm a man for crying out loud, I need to eat but I'm not gonna waste it like that. What I did instead, was bring with me a whole wheat tortilla I had, some baby spinach, and I got some sandwiches but swapped the bread out for the tortilla, saving myself over 300 calories for the meal, and I had more fiber and protein than had I just gotten the original food. I may have looked silly making the swap and having a bunch of bread sitting there, but it didn't ruin my daily diet. :)

Wow - what a great idea (swapping the bread)!! Who cares what anyone thinks - YOU choose what to put into your body. That's great self-caretaking!

Like you, I haven't given up the "bad" foods that I've always enjoyed. I've just found ways to incorporate them into my plan. And upping the exercise certainly helps balance things out.
