Ok, so my 'ideal' weight is right around 165. I'm 5'9 mind you, so some girls are at their heaviest weight there and are still quite big. Ive gotten down to 194 currently after having my son and working out the past 4 months [and i got quite large! around 260 pounds!] and i definately do want to reach 165 region but i do NOT for the life of me want that muscular look. Is there certain things i can do to make sure i don't lose my butt n curves n such? They're definately the first thing to go and it really just makes me hate my body even more! i have a very large bone structure and at 180 [my weight before getting pregnant] my hip bones were exposed and i thought i looked alright. does anyone else have this issue?
is there anything at all you can do about it ?
also, i know to a lot of you its more about health but im not gonna lie looks is probably my number 1 reason. shallow i know, but ive never had a good body image, ever. and im dying to just feel ok in my own skin!

When you lose weight, you lose it all over, so that means curves and all. However, if you do some butt toning exercises, you can build up your muscles and still have a nice butt. There are plenty of workout videos that focus on the butt, and many cardio machines will have a setting to get a better workout for the butt. You can also do squats or walk up stairs, or walk backwards.
Good luck!0 -
The 'girls' went first for me & my @ss is slowly going now too. Hips have been exposed for a couple months now. I'm 5'10 and sitting right around 169...seems like what I hate most is taking the longest to go - my gut.
You find the secret to keeping the curves (or what I have left, now) I want to know first. :laugh:0 -
I understand the way you look is a great motivator - it certainly is for me too!
Chances of you getting bulky (overly muscley) is slim. That being said - there ARE ways to accentuate womanly features with muscle. You can give your tushie and the 'girls' a little lift by putting some muscle behind them.
I know it seems counter intuitive, but weight train! Lots of cardio is great for weight loss, but to tone up and get that smoother, more defined body (without jiggly bits) weight training is the key. Focus on butt lifting exercises and chest exercises. :flowerforyou:0 -
thanks guys. i DEF know weight training has got to come and sooner than later. im looking into la fitness right now because they have child care starting at just 3 months of age! i have an ellliptical at home, so 3 days at the gym a week wouldnt kill me to lift a bit. and as far as the 'girls' i never had much of them anyways! haha [weird right, i can still be a bigger girl with none of that added fun haha]
another thing that i actually hate [some people like compliments, me im just not ready for them] but everyones telling me how great i look and i just feel awful still. its allll about mind set i know i have a LOT to work on with that for sure! id probably be happy wth 170. but just to see a # in the 160's would mean the world to me. but its not gonna mean anything with a jiggly stomach haha.
also i know my *kitten* is my best feature [not to be cocky lol, its just what any guy ive been wth has told me haha] so to see that go really scares me! so muscle butt is better than no butt i suppose! squats and lunges here i come!0
