Why do you burn more calories on the treadmill ?

It could also be incline. If you walk on a level surface outside but add incline to the treadmill, that would likely make you burn more. Pace would be another. If the treadmill causes you to keep a faster pace you'd burn more.
But if pace and incline were the same, I would think you'd burn mroe outside. The fact that the ground doesn't move under you like a treadmill belt makes you responsible for propelling yourself forward, which should up the intesity a bit.0 -

Ohhh okay that makes sense! Because I do use the treadmill @ a 10 incline. So that MUST be why! Thanks for your help!0
