(= Like the title says, non scale victory for the win.

So I'll explain ...i joined a gym this week and I had to go in yesterday to get my "evaluation" where they measured me and my weight and my BF%(which is 36%....not crazy about that..) and then I went in today to actually work out.

The trainer in there was watching me and I was like "yes?" and he was like...I've been watching you and I think you can handle some more complex moves, let me show you. So he was showing me how to plank using a stability/yoga ball and then how to roll it front and back with your arms while planking. He first made me plank on the floor then gave me the ball. 30 seconds of planking I have to add and I was on the ball for 45 seconds which may not be a long time to some of you, but he said and I quote "I have some people more fit than you are that cannot do that, you have a strong core!" I felt so proud at that moment. Even if he was just saying it to be nice or whatever. I was like hell yeah I have a strong core...under there...somewhere... LOL

I did (which isn't much but it is to me as a beginner and i apologize for not knowing all the names)

3 planks(1 ground, 1 ball & 1 ball rolling it) 30 seconds, 45 seconds and 30 seconds
3 sets of 10 bicep curls (1 both feet then alternative feet standing on only one) 8pound weights
1 set of 10 leg curls? It's a machine you have to use the front of your leg, again I apologize for not knowing the names yet, 40 pounds
1 set of 10 chest machine presses at 40 pounds(I thought it was set for 10 because the 4 was half rubbed off!)
1 set of 10 tricep lifts on stability ball(tummy down)
1 set of 10 bicep curls on the stability ball(tummy down)
1 set of 10 shoulder something or other(SORRY) it's where you wrap a resistance band around something and pull back at chest level to a 90 degree angle with your arms trying to touch your shoulder blades together

I know it's not a lot, but I'm building up to it. He said I did really well today and he's not my personal trainer he's just one that happens to work in the gym who gave me some pointers. I are proud of myself. =D

whether or not someone else can do it doesn't change the fact that he presented you with a challenge and you met him on it...AND you impressed him on it...

    thats fantabulous!

    Thanks guys.

I was like :3 goofy smilin' all the way home. My muscles are sore, but not as sore as I thought they'd be and he was like "yeah your core will be sore tonight" but it's not so I guess the fat does some good. LOL
  • I can't wait to try your routine at home! Love that the trainer was able to help challenge you!

High-fives to you for the NSV, but also for being open to suggestions. Many people won't accept unsolicited suggestions at the gym, even when they may be helpful. Enjoy your new moves. Congratulations!

Really? I'm always open to suggestions as long as its something I feel my body can handle.

    Thanks guys.
