Too few calories but not hungry? please help!

I have eaten three meals today and even a slice of cake! however my food diary is telling me that I am in danger of slowing down my metabolism because I haven't consumed enough calories. I have 500 calories remaining but I'm not hungry and wont be eating anything else as it is 11pm.

Is it really that bad to eat 500 calories under my goal for the day?

    If it's only for today, no stress. It's worrying if EVERYDAY is like that, but one day in either direction is not gonna ruin anything :)
    Our bodies are perfectly able to handle it. It's what you do in the long run that counts.
