I turn 50 at the end of the month, started my "fit at 50" campaign about a year ago, and I have to say, i feel terrific -- better than I have in years. I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to turning 50! Feel free to add me if you wish.

    Eat well
    Lift heavy

Works for me, feel stronger at 55 than I did at 35 :drinker:

Feel free to friend me. I'm 53 and feeling fabulous! Only have about 5 or 6 more pounds to goal (and then I may change my goal!). My diet/exercise diary was printed out by my First Line Therapy (a dietary/exercise approach to avoid being on medications for diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.) nurse practitioner/health coach this week, to be used as an example to show others how it can be done. ;-)

Yep, what the other ladies said. I am in my mid fifties and was able to maintain my weight well under 130 until I gave up cigarettes in 1999. Now it is a struggle to stay under 160 but hey at least I smell better! Would love to connect with women of my own age who can shed some light on this journey we're all on.

    Hi!,
I am new to mfp and loving it. I have 30-40 lbs that I want to lose. Motivation is the key to
success along our weight loss journey.
I had lost 70 lbs with weight watchers in the past year and a half, but found I was missing
motivation, so needed to change things around a bit. It is once again working for me.

    Hi Ladies,

I am 56, started on June 5th this year and have lost 35 pounds to date. Feeling good and looking to lose another 75 pounds. Chis Powell is my biggest inspiration.

Would enjoy to connect with others!

Hi. I'm 56, joined about 8 weeks ago and had lost 40 lbs before I joined. Since then I'm still losing at the pace that's right for someone who has to relearn better habits and has a LONG LONG way to go. This is a "slowly but surely" process and I call it a 5 year plan. I'm doing this with alot of help. I see a bariatric specialist, my own doctor, a dietician, and along the way I'm going to have to see a psychologist too about the emotional part of my bad eating habits. But I actually have to admit that I'm proud of the fact that though I fight with myself and my urges daily, I'm winning the battle.
You are welcome to "friend me". If anyone needs motivational help, I'll try to do that for you

I am on the same journey, I am at 40 days and lost 8 pds. A food diary is great, since its in print I make sure I hike every day and plan my days food. Since Menopause it has been an uphill climb.

I can't remember exactly when I joined MFP but think it was sometime in February 2012. I've lost 53 lbs and have that much more to go. Feel free to friend me. I think this is a joint effort and we need daily support and also laughter. Welcome to MFP. It is the first time I have been willing to track my food and that has been a Godsend. So easy and also fun! We must have fun or it becomes so annoying. Losing weight is hard under any circumstances but this one is a good thing!!

This cracks me up -- we have the same story. I have lost 3 lobs. It's only been a week and I am 53 -- will send a friend request. Good luck! Stick with it -- we are still soooo YOUNG! :)
