easy protein?

So i am a new college student that is commuting to school and running from school to one job and then to my second job and i want to make sure that i am getting enough nutrients and protein in my diet. I recently became a vegetarian this summer and am looking for easy ways to incorporate protein in my diet and on the go schedule. I was thinking about using some kind of protein powder in organic fruit smoothies that i drink daily or adding a protein bar like zone perfect bars. I am also looking to lose weight at the same time but i want to be safe.
Any suggestions anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated :)

Those are good options. Part of it will be what can you keep cool/fresh.

A whey protein powder is going to be cheaper by the serving than bars will be. Bars will (generally) contain more other stuff (fat and carbs) than powder - not necessarily a bad thing, just be aware.
  • ok cool. i will have to look into the whey protein. thanks!

Dried soy beans are great for protein too, I add them to salads soups and casseroles
  • (Sorry just reread your looking for more on-the- go options) I'd recommend Peanut Butter, Almonds or Sunflower Seeds or Whey Protein as said above.

Hemp Protein, Pea Protein are two not mentioned that are easy to overlook. Look up a recipe using these protein powders, some bars or something maybe. Make a big batch and consume at will.
  • great thanks for all the ideas, i will have to try some of the soy beans for sure as well as the various protein powders :)
