Such a beautiful night last night that I decided for my workout to go for a little jog. I jogged 3.75 miles in 39 min. That's a 10.24 min mile, or 5.77 mph. Then I walked another .25 mile cool down for another 5 min. When I was about 60 days into doing TMT I ran my first 3.5 mile. By halfway I was out of breath, had a bad pain in my side, and jello legs. I really had to dig deep, and push hard to finish. I was ready to collapse after I was done. However last night No pain, No sore legs,, and I never got out of breath. I felt great!!!! I never used to be able to run. P-90X must be doing something. I love Beachbody products...Question for anyone that runs a lot.....Are these numbers pretty good?....I was just running at a steady pace not all out.

If they are better than you expected or had done previously, then yes... they are very good. If not, then no.

Don't ever base your times on other people's as a gauge of success (unless you're racing/competing).
  • Seems pretty good to me! I can do about 3 miles in 32 min or something.

I agree with the above though, as long as you are improving your numbers, then you are doing great! Keep it up!

Jacksonpt is right. Don't worry about what is good for other people. If that is the best you have ever done, or if running is easy where it used to be hard, your 10 minute mile is absolutely great!
    But it is individual.
I run much faster than my wife. But she can run about twice as far as I can. (Rats!)

That's really good I think. I just do this casually as well and run about 6 mph. I normally do about 30 minutes for a 5k during morning workouts. I worry more about my heart rate than the actual speed since I'm just trying to improve conditioning. This morning I did 2 miles at 6.5 mph and slowed down a bit for the last mile when my heart rate kept creeping up and finally got to 170. Still did all 3 miles in 30 minutes. I'm totally happy with that time.

I just got this Polar FT7 last week and it's helping me to push myself more. Knowing that I can continue feeling good as long as the BPM is under 170 is a really cool. Like everyone else said here just keep challenging yourself. I know people can do a 5k in under 17 minutes but I'll be super excited if I can get mine down to 25 minutes.
  • Thanks guys they are better, and I'm improving. I'm excited that I'm getting better. I just don't run a lot so I was just wondering if they were like average times for someone in shape....Oh my heart rate was running in the 145-155 range...

Congratulations, well done! A little more, a little further every time, that's how I am with cycling, I haven't tried jogging/running yet, but it's on my list of things I want to do. I went kayaking for the first time today.
