Effective Diet + Exercise combo that worked great for you?

Hi guys! ive finally convinced myself to walk in the light and lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle without turning back *fingers crossed*. I managed to research a bit and thought that Beachbody/Turbo Jam workout are good programs to follow. as with diets im thinking of the 17day diet. Thing is, im not sure if these 2 go well together? So i just thought of asking around to get some sound advice from you guys if you could suggest a good diet +exercise that i can follow with some promising results? thanks a lot!
