Hello gorgeous MFP women, I need some help!
I am an advertising major and currently working on a project to figure out how women ages 35-60 feel about beets!
So, if you could just let me know whether or not you like them and maybe about how often you eat them it would be a HUGE help!
Thanks in advance

I love beets!
I love pickled beets the most (they are awesome on a cheese sandwich)
I also love them baked onto a goats cheese tart.
I just wish they didn't stain my fingers pink!
I grow them, so I eat them in season once a week, maybe once a month out of season.
I hope this helps!0 -
Awesome, thanks so much!
I'll need a few more though! Anyone else?0 -
That's a bizarre project!
Hate them pickled, love them just boiled.0 -
I want to like them to vary my veggie intake. I don't.0

gross, evil little red *kitten*... right up there with brussel sprouts..yuk0
-
yuck!
I've had them prepared several different ways and I just don't like them.0 -

Love beets especially in a sraw beet salad with apples and carrots.0

Beets are never given the justice they deserve.
There is nothing more pleasant-tasting and crunchy than a good raw beet. Right from the garden, washed well, cut off the ends and into the fridge to get nice and cold.
I love them either diced up or thrown in my spiral slicer to make "noodles" out of them for an imaginative salad w/granny smith apple, daikon radish and english cucumbers...
The rich color is definitely appealing - after all, we eat with our eyes first.... the sight of something that looks so good makes it highly palatable.
I dont like them sweetened at all - the way they are is good enough for me!0 -
I think they are gross, unless they are raw and shredded on top of a salad.0

I love them. We fix them roasted and steamed/boiled. Sometimes if I have time I slice them thin, cut them into little diamonds and spread cream cheese or soft goat cheese between them to make tiny layered hors d'oeuvres. It's lots of work but looks cute and tastes good.0

Straight from the can to the fridge to my plate! I love cold sliced beets!0
-
I can only eat them if they've been pickled!0
-
Nope...not a fan.0

Well I'm not in the age range, so I'll tell you about my sister who is 37. She loves beets. She puts them in salads pretty often and she'll eat them plain. I'd say she eats them 1-2 times a week.0
-
Seriously?0

I like them roasted and leftovers are excellent cold. I don't eat them too often though.0

Love, love, love any veggie that's grilled, but beets are exceptionally great when brushed with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper and grilled. nom nom nom0

This is a strange project... But, I don't care if it's a joke or not.
I like beets shredded. I like root vegetables, they are yummy (there are others I like more than beets). I like eating things that are bright and colorful. Beets make me feel happy when I see the bright color. They make my meal interesting.
Oops, I'm not 35 yet.0 -
I don't like them.0

Love them. Eat them at least once a week. Used to eat even more when I had a huge veggie garden and canned.
My aunt married a man born in Russian. They use beets like we use potatoes in their stews- what they call borscht. People who aren't Russian think borscht is only the pureed beet soup that the French make.0 -
ewww. My least favorite veggie. Hate the color, hate the taste.0
-
Roasted with other root veg is yummy but hardly ever buy them to be honest!0
-
Hate them. Hate the color, flavor, looks, smell, and how they leave a permanent stain just by looking at them.0
-
Seriously???0
-
Not quite in the age range, but other than in borscth, I can't stand them. I've tried many many times, just can't do it.0

I love beets! I use to take the can ones and just slice them into a salad or eat them plain like that. I have gotten into purchasing the real deal and backing them. Delicious. I haven't had them recently due to not being in control of my cooking, but now that I have my own place, i hope to incorporate them back in my life... I would eat them as often as I feel I can still enjoy them.. Maybe once a week?0

Absolutely LOVE beets. Fresh preferred by far, packaged fresh cooked is good, canned is fairly icky. Like them raw (shredded in lettuce salads or with shredded carrot and jicama) or juiced (mix with apple/carrot/celery/lemon) or cooked - baked (omg good) or boiled. I add sliced cold boiled beets to green salad.0

To me, they taste like dirt.0
-
No like.
They have this weird earthy taste that I can't get past. But I keep trying.0
