I know Im on a 1200-1500 calories aday. But no many days I get to enjoy eating out with family. Ok this morning since I know I was going out of town and was taking my daughter out to eat for her birthday. We went to all you can eat buffet but I did good by not going back for 2nds only for the fruit. But my questions is how can you really estimate how many calories.
Anyone familar with skillets restaurant .
Well did eat some scrabbled eggs with cheese and peppers ,2 sausage links,2-4 slices of bacon, grapes ,canteloupe ,2 french toast. Few bites of cottage cheese and one donut. Drink water.
Should I estimate about what I think. Be safer to estimate higher calories when Im not sure or what?
Even though I am prob at or near my cals for the day I do plan on doing lite tonight for supper and drink plenty of water to help flush the extra salt out.

I usually just search the database for something similar, even if it means entering the meal in a piecemeal fashion. (I.e., 2 eggs, 1 serving cheese, bacon, sausage, each piece of fruit, etc). I try to pick a higher calorie entry, out of caution, knowing that restaurants cook in butter. Honestly, what you listed is probably close to 1,000 calories, if not more.0

Next time try a restaurant like Outback Steakhouse. They have a 500 calorie menu and the kids can have a great steak and they make an awesome desert (for you it would up the calories but it's good). Buffet's are nice for the price but there are so many issues with the food that there's no way to know what you're eating. You did good though! Stopping yourself from going back for seconds was the right thing.0
