My Dog Has Bad Breath: What To Do?

My dog Lucy has bad breath, me being the smart one thought oh I'll get her Dental Bones like I did a few months ago and she had no problems with the bones or people touching the bones. The past few days she has been barking and sometimes growling at anyone who touches the bone when it is near her she did it to me yesterday and I swatted her and told her no, bad dog. and she did it again today and I swatted her today and told her no bad dog you don't bark. so I threw the rest of the dental bones away.
What is another way to get her breath not so stinky (bad english grammar I know, sorry) without having to deal with her barking. Is there another product out there besides the dental bones?
