30+ lbs to lose...slowly and surely I'll get there

Hi All,

I've been struggling with weightloss since my son was born 4 years ago. A succession of life changes (mostly good but still stressful) and quitting smoking pushed my weight the highest it's ever been. In the last year twice I've started a diet and lost 12lbs (170-159 both times) rather quickly through strict diet and lots of excercise and then I kinda burnt out and gave up.

I now weigh 164lbs and this time around I'm determined to lose the weight slowly, no more than 1lb a week and to really focus on things like why do I binge, what are my triggers, where did my energy go, what workouts make me feel the strongest/best afterwards. If I had taken a slower apprach when this journey started last january I would have already reached and surpassed my goals instead of slipping and slidding all over the scale.
