A few friends have asked me for the recipe for this flapjack recipe with protein powder in, so here it is:

Recipe name: Protein Flapjacks

Number of servings: 12

Ingredients Calories Carbs Fat Protein Fiber Sodium
Usn - Diet Fuel - Ultralean (Vanilla), 4 scoops (55g) 386 32 4 50 10 582
Whitworths - Soft Dates, 100 g 274 65 1 2 8 0
Tesco - Value Porridge Oats, 300 g dry oats 1,080 181 25 33 26 0
Stork - Soft Margerine, 200 g 1,260 0 140 0 0 1,800
Golden Syrup - Lyle's, 20 Teaspoon (5g) 325 81 0 0 0 467
Add Ingredient
Total: 3325 359 170 85 44 2849
Per Serving: 277 (Cals) 30 (carbs) 14 (fat) 7 (protein) 4 (fiber) 237 (sodium)

Basically put the oats, chopped dates and protein powder in a large bowl and mix. Then melt the margerine and golden syrup - once melted mix in with oat mixture.

Grease two 6in round tins and split mixture equally into the dishes. Cook in the oven for 15 mins at 180'C.

Leave to cool for a while before tipping them onto a wire rack to cool properly. Each round tin should give you 6 portions - so 12 altogether. enjoy. x

They are lovely. I made a batch before I went to Scotland and took them with me - even the kids devoured them! I'm surprised more people on here haven't even looked.

Let me know what you think. You need to leave them to cool in the baking tin for a while before tipping them out otherwise they crumble - speaking from experience! haha. x

Enjoy - I hope they turn out well.

I'm going to make some tonight too but with a different protein powder, it's less cals (theproteinworks cherry bakewell - 92 cals per scoop and 23g protein), also going to add some raisins and brazil nuts for texture. Fingers crossed they work but can't see why they shouldn't! x

Wouldn't it be better to have a coupl e regular pancakes and drink a protein shake with it?
  • Try banana oat biscuits
one banana to one cup of porridge oats then in the oven for ten minutes
