Tracking net carb

Hello!
I have tried several diets but the only sucess was the Atkins (i.e. count the net carbs and let your body do the rest). However, because of some personal issues it went by the wayside as did my exercise regime. In August 2012 the Doctor told me my weight was up to 255 pounds (I am 5' 8" tall) and there was protein, glucose, & ketone in my urine sample!
So the question is How do I track net carbs in the Food Dairy? The only way I can figure is to make a 'net carb' version of the food and post it to the DB , but this workaround seems like a kludge to me. Anyone have a better solution?

mentally subtract the fiber from the carbs - some people park them next to each other to make it simple.
You'll find some things are in as net carbs already, so check carefully.0
