In Defense Of: Gummy Bear Vitamins

I know they are not the most efficient way (dollars vs. nutrients vs. calories) to get my vitamins. But I keep a bottle of gummy bear multi-vitamins, marketed for kids, on my desk. I also keep a bottle of gummy bear omega-3/DHA vitamins on my desk, too.

At some point during the day, I will always get my vitamins. Never forget as I do with the pills. Plus, as candy (which, let's be honest, they also are) I never have to worry about just losing control and downing the whole bottle.

I mean, who would want to have all that extra nutrition and omega-3? I'd suddenly be all muscular and have a super brain and be able to run a sub-3-hr marathon. Who needs that kind of responsibility.

So I just eat a couple from each bottle a day. Every day.

  • I always take 2 of the one a day gummies (although the fact that they're called one a day when the serving is 2 always gets me...who let that slide past the marketing team?) no matter what. I'm in college and it can be a pain to remember to take pills. Plus, even if i eat super clean the rest of the day, I feel like I've had a tiny bit of "candy" without completely sacrificing my health. (:

I'd love to try the Borba ones too (http://www.borba.com/skin_care_gummi_bear_supplements/product/1157) but they're so expensive considering you're supposed to take 8/day...
