Hi! My name is Amy! I am 42 years old and from Nebraska. I am married to my wonderful husband, Joel and we have 3 teenaged daughters still at home and a son and daughter in college. We are a blended family (2 from me, 3 from him) We have been married for 2 1/2 years but were high school sweeties way back when.
I have used food as a coping mechanism for most of my life. After having my children and then going through a divorce, food became the only thing that i really felt I had control over. I have been working on the emotional aspects and now its time to get healthy again! I am relearning how to eat right and exercise. I know this is going to take time but Im ready! Would love to meet some people on here and build a positive support system! Please say hello and if anyone can point me toward some good groups on the site, that would be great!
Thanks!
PS~ I joined back in March...but just got back to using the site.

Hi Amy,
This worked for me.
Truly this tool works if you use it. The secret for me was to eat many times a day, eat the right foods. I still will have that milk and cookies once in awhile, or a beer. I have been able to maintain my goal weight since Jan. I can wear my 18 yr old daughters jeans now.
I use this off and on the make sure I'm staying on track. Thinking of maybe knocking off 5-6 more lbs.
I feel better and I'm proud of what I have done. It is truly funny when I go to a building at work and bump into someone I haven't seen in awhile and they don't know who I am until I speak to them.....it's the best feeling ever.
Im in my 50's and now back to the size I was in my 20's......you can do it with this tool. It is wonderful.

Hi Amy,
I think you have great goals listed in your profile--good luck reaching them! MFP can be a great tool to help you get there.
My use of MFP has evolved over time...with it and other similar tools I was able to lose my weight....then I went a little wacky for a bit and needed to pull back from MFP until I got my head on straight again (if interested you can check out my profile)...anyway, I think we have enough in common that a connection might work for both of us :flowerforyou:0
