If you're trying to lose weight, you probably should avoid fast-food restaurants as much as possible anyway but if you can't / won't, please be alert to the fact that many of the calories listed on their menus (in the States) are incorrect. Unfortunately, especially the low-fat and low-calorie items often contain more calories than listed.

This is the article providing the information: http://www.myhealthnewsdaily.com/1497-calorie-counts-menus-accurate-inaccurate-restaurant-calorie-counts.html

The researcher tried to lose weight by cooking at home, and had no problem. Then she tried the same by selecting low-calorie items in fast-food restaurants, and shifted NOTHING. This enticed her to test the foods and found significant differences between the listed and the actual calories.

Best try to avoid eating in those places as much as possible, and cook your own food.

Yes, definitely a significant difference...and varies from site to site as well. Thanks.

Wow. Thank you for sharing this! I am doing much better at limiting my eating out, but never imagined that so many places could be wrong with their posted calorie counts. This is eye-opening!

That's cool to know! I don't eat out at all, it's just the worst you can put in your body. My suggestion, if you have to eat out, go to places you know toss fresh ingredients and salads.
