Have you made your Labor Day Commitment yet?

Labor Day has always felt to me like more of a turning point than New Years. New Years Resolutions are made when the calendar date changes. Labor Day Commitments are made at the turn of the season. Weather is cooler, less humid. It's easier to get outside and MOVE. We rotate our seasonal clothes, hopefully to a new -- and smaller -- size. Kids go to school. Store displays change. There are so many changes.

This is the PERFECT time to make a new Commitment. So, what is yours?

I have been doing a dance ... Two steps forward, one step backward for a while, but more and more steps backward lately. I've been SAYING I'm going to workout but then making excuses. Yes, I've had some health injuries that do slow me down. But I could do upper body workouts. I could do bike time. I could do pool time. And I find reasons to avoid these. If I'm going to do this, I need to do it ALL.

Tomorrow is a new beginning. I can do this. I WILL do this.

I will get going so that I am active enough for my Polar Active to show that I've done 10,000 steps every day.
I will get going and drink at least 8 cups of water every day.
I will get going and get back on track with my pushup program.
I will get going on some strength training.
I will get going on a stretching program.
I will get going on a cardio program.
I will get going, and make an honest attempt to do what my physical therapist recommends. Daily.

I will get going, and get back on track wit my nutrition program.

    I . WILL. GET. GOING.

And I will start tomorrow. Tuesday. September 4. Labor Day Plus 1.

    No more excuses:
    • My granddaughter is now in school for 1/2 day.
    • It is NOT too hot.
    • It is NOT too humid.
    • It does NOT hurt TOO much.

    NO. MORE. EXCUSES.

Gosh, this is the first Labor Day since I retired and I was going to celebrate retirement by NOT celebrating Labor Day! :drinker:

Well, I've been a bit discouraged lately. I'm staying pretty much on track, but hit a plateau and just discouraged. Okay, I promise to wake up tomorrow with the thought of Labor Day + 1 = Get Going!

I've made no commitments. I'm already on the track to better mental and physical health.
