going backwards

I have been working out for about 3 weeks or so. I have recently tried to incorporate a little jogging. I was strictly doing the elliptical and stationary bike at the gym. I was able to run about 8 minutes on the treadmill and about 3 minutes at the local school track. For the last two days I can barely run 2 minutes on treadmill and 1 minute outside. Not sure what has happened but I feel like I am going backwards. Any thoughts?

Rest is very important - you can over-exercise (depending on your level of fitness) - and actually go backwards
And age is very important too -the older you are, the more rest that you need
I used to be able to work out every day, when I was younger - but when I got into my 40's, working out every day just ending up tiring me out! I need to use breaks / rests properly0 -
Try moderate walking if you feel too tired to run. Sometimes I don't feel like going to the gym, I feel weak when I lift weights, and I push less metal than the previous week, but I still do what I can...things will improve.
HOWEVER if you are sore and in pain, take it easy until you feel better.0
