Sodium Intake?

Hey! I was just wondering, what's the recommended daily amount of sodium for a 1200 calorie diet?

If you track it on your diary it will tell you.

Mine is 2500--and exercise will not give you more sodium intake like it does for other nutrients.

Aussie guidelines suggest 1500mg per day, which is lower than MFP's 2500. I've changed mine to 2000, so somewhere in the middle. To be honest I don't worry about it too much - I don't have any health issues which require me to keep it low and I drink lots of water so I'm not really concerned.

2500 is the maximum recommended daily intake for people with no conditions that require them to watch their sodium; I think 1500 is the maximum for those people. It's something your body really doesn't need a lot of at all, so the lower you can keep it the better.

US suggests 2300 for healthy adults, 1500 for those with heart issues or over 50

    MFP sets auto at 2500

choose a setting for yourself and stick with it for a month or so. if it seems to be giving you issues, mess with it. if not, leave it as is.

For me personally, I keep mine around 3200. Lower than that, and I start having issues with low blood pressure.

Ditto to the other people. It's on the app, but I lowered mine as well though it's really as low as possible while still eating what I should. I wish I could tell you!
