I just had my WorkSafe WorkHealth Check.
The good:
Cholesterol = 4.1 (5.5 or less is normal)
'Good' Cholesterol = 1.2 (1.0 or more is normal)
Blood glucose (unfasted) = 5.1 (less than 6.5 is normal)
The average:
Blood Pressure = 142/84 which puts me in the med/high range.
However, this is unmediated, and last year I was higher than this, medicated.
The bad:
Waist measurement = 105 (high risk). However this is down from 120cm in the past year. I was in the low risk for diabetes until they added in my waist measurement and that pushed me up to 'high risk'

It's great when lifestyle changes to lose weight are reflected in other health areas as well.
Well done!0 -
Thats great to read. Makes itall worthwhile when you're getting result like that doesn't it.0

That is a lot of positive changes. If you are disappointed by the waist measurement/diabetes then perhaps it helps to think about where you would have been this year if you hadn't made the changes to fitness/diet that you have? For example I have lost 6 lbs so far but it helps me to think that if I wasn't doing mfp then I may well have put on 6 lbs so I would be nearly a stone heavier than I am now. Well, it helps me to think like that!
Congratulations on the better check results

good for you, you should be very proud, my journey is all about health, I am 31 and 2 years ago I weighed 206lbs and was a UK size 18/44inch waist. i went to my doctor due to discomfort in my knees and tiredness, he informed me that if I didn't change my ways and lose some weight i would end up with the exact same problems my mum has at age 61, chronic arthritis in her knees and type 2 diabetes, she as recently been told she may lose her eyesight and her feet
I decided the time was right to change for my healths sake and my children, I would love to do more with my mum but her arthritis has crippled her for more then 10 years now. I believe my weight gain was due to post baby weight and depression, I asked the doctor for help and he prescribed me anti depressents which made me feel hhappy enough to begin my health and fitness journey. By no means have I lost weight easily or quickly and I still struggle, but 2 years on I am now 153lbs (fluctuationg up and down by a few lbs or so) and on my last hhurdle of my journey, I fit a into a size 10 and have muscles and tone that have never been there before I feel amazing and at peace and I haven't taken any anti-depressents for 2 months! I have recently joined the gym and train 3-4times a week hard! I walk everywhere and exercise and diet are working as my anti-depressents now, I never thought I would ever be this fit and healthy in my lifetime, nor would I have believed I would want to go even furter Good luck, you can do it!0 -
I have a problem with your labeling. Instead of "good" "ok" and "bad", it should have been "good" "very good" and "s*** that I'm extremely proud of".
As a rule, I don't grade myself on where I am, but where I am going. And you are definitely going in the right direction. This is something you've accomplished thru hard work, sacrifice and dedication. As a result, all of your vitals are improving. Ok, they aren't all in the green....yet. But keep doing what you're doing and they will get there. That's a terrific accomplishment. Great job by you.

So by next years you'll be in the no risk range Great job, keep it up!:drinker:0

It is really well worth it when you see the impact in other health measurements. That is a good unmedicated Bp. Kepp up the good work.0

Drop the question mark. That's a victory no matter which way you cut it.
As for the waist measure, if a) it's less than it was before and b) you are making progress in the right direction, anything they could tell you is completely redundant. You're already doing the things they would ask you to do.0
