Is under 100 Carbs a day a "Low Carb Diet"?

Hello all! I have been on what I like to think is a "low Carb diet" with I believe 70-90 carbs a day(all from brown rice). When I eat, I'll just have 1 cup or 1.5 cups of rice. Is this bad for a low Carb lifestyle?
Edit: I still eat normally, I'm.just pointing out the rice has the carbs

depends....if you're eating 800 cals a day like the average female on MFP..then no.0

to be serious...less than 30% of your cals is where i'd call it "low".0

thats what I do...I just eat as low as possible 70-90. Bad depends on what you want to do...atkins diet says you cant eat more than 20-25 carbs per day in phase one....which lasts a month or so (dont quote me not quite sure) Then phase 2 you move up to 30 or 40 carbs or something...there plan is to get the weight off with very minimal carbs then slowly introduce carbs back into your body so it doesnt gain weight back. Because low low carb diets youll gain it all back once youstart eating carbs again...IMO 70-90 is a good range for "low carb" But they say to eat all your carbs in the AM...and only those from veggies at dinnertime because your body holds onto those carbs you eat at night.0

Thanks. I eat 1250-1500 Cal a day btw. High protein, moderate fat. Look at my diary for clarification

It seems awfully low to me, since my diet is high carb. It should go by a percentage of your total calories, though, not by the number of grams.0

Sorry. I clarified it above (1200-1500 Cal a day)0 -
what's your height/weight?
If I were you (and I've been overweight most of my life too, just fyi) and losing weight was really important, I'd bust my *kitten* in the gyme and eat 3000-3500 cals/day.
You're only 18 once, and there is not another time in your life where you'll have that much potential for muscle growth.
Use it while you have it. You won't get any fatter, and you'll put on muscle that will make fat mass easier to tackle later in life.
just my suggestions.
I went through high school at an overweight but athletic 5'10" 240". I stopped working out and just got fat over the next 5 years and got up to 275 by the time I was 24. Then the next 6 months I lost almost 100 lbs (all cardio/calorie restriction). I then spent the next year and half rectifying the mistake of losing more muscle mass than I would have liked. At the end of my journey I was 5'10" 210" and 8-10% body fat. Since, I've been sick (mono at 26 SUCKS) and then went back to old habits, but I'm back on the wagon this year having learned my lessons. From about the same starting point I'm almost at my goal weight/body fat % in about a year faster than I did it when I was 25/26.0 -

What a great post. Thanks for that motivation and your story. I am 6 foot 1, at about 303-305 atm. I usually do heavy chest/tris/shoulders on Mon, legs on Wed, and Accessory day on Fri. I still eat at a calorie deficit however.0 -
