Why am I so hungry still?

OK. I've been eating between 2000-2200 calories a day based on my TDEE minus 20% reduction. I have figured the eating on a moderate to strenuous activity, but I'm really wondering if this is enough? I'm confused I'm doing P90X on my third month and I'm doing the Lean program (two types of exercises...which one is the program and then the other Zumba, walking or running for additional 45-60 min.) I workout 5-6 times a week...sometimes 7...I do try to take the rest day.

A week or two ago, i was eating 2300 calories. I lost 5 lbs which was probably water weight from tons of sodium days before. So, haven't seen weight loss much, but inches are slowly coming off.

I'm 173 currently and 39, 5'8.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of foods do you eat? Do you eat mostly healthy whole foods or more convenience? Higher carb or lower?

This could play a factor depending on your response.

What are you eating? I see a huge difference in my hunger level depending on how much protein I eat.

    For example today:

oatmeal whole old fashion, banana, one whole egg, two whites breakfast

protein shake: whey/soy protein powder, natural creamy peanut butter 1 tbs, greek yogurt (post workout)

Cup serving of progresso lower sodium tomato soup

made grilled cheese to go with whole wheat bread and sargento ultra thins...little very little smartbalance spread to make sure it didn't burn....

    no pm snack
    tonight
    pinto bean (boiled self...so clean)
    marinated flank steak (4 oz)
    guacamole
I allow myself the sweet of dark m/ms and my weight watcher bar as night snack...

    ***I haven't eaten the sweet treat...so please don't say that's why I'm hungry.

    I try my best...

I'm asking more based on the exercise though too.

You seem to have calories left over every day.

When your hungry try an oz of almonds or another greek yogurt or another serving of oatmeal. I find proteins help my hunger the most.

Thanks. My exercise calories are figured into my allowance at the beginning so it looks like I have lots left...in essence I don't because I log my exercise to show myself I'm still meeting my 500 burn at least.

Lifting heavy weights often increases hunger. So, it could be the P90X that makes you feel hungry (at least I'm hungrier on days that I lift heavy).

Also, are you getting enough fiber? Some more vegetables during the day (like onions, peppers, spinach in your eggs), could really help to fill you up without adding many more calories.

I agree on the more fiber - more veggies such as carrots and broccoli, these help me feel physically full as well as satisfied

Yeah your diet seems very well, i was gonna say sometimes fruits and certain carbs make me hungry, but i dont think that is your issue. Could you possibly be working out too much to offset your cals? I notice sometimes when i kick up my workouts i have more of an appetite, just a thought. Do you find the hunger there all the time or certain times of the day?
