Seems they answer it already
"bump" used for who need to participate to that thread and they can follow with it later, so u will be able to see it in "My Topics"
also can be used similar to "up"

OMG lol - I knew what it meant, but never knew about the My Topics! I always thought it was weird people bumping, but never knowing how to find the damn threads again! lol
