Weekends With Friends

Hi Everyone,
I'm going to stay with a small group of my old friends from University at the weekend, which usually means eating out, sweets, treats and lots of booze... all the usual pitfalls!
I've just reached my first stone in weight loss, which has taken a long time and a lot of work.
Does anyone have any tips to help me avoid going over my calorie budget?
My budget is 1450 and I just reached 168lbs (5"8)
I'd really really appreciate some help with this, because it's making me a little apprehensive about what should be an amazing weekend!

Avoid beer? Drink vodka/diet coke for the least cals. A few glasses of red wine is even better than going on the beer.
If going out, choose fish with vegetables or get a starter for main. Share a dessert with a friend.
If you're snacking at home just take like a handful of crisps and make them last, nobody will even notice that youre not digging in. Just enjoy your weekend. You can have all those things just watch the potion sizes. When you get home you can add on more excercise to your usual routine. Its just a couple of days, even if you ate 3500 cals OVER maintenance it would only be one pound0 -

Lets say a man attacks you in the street and hits you over the head with a baseball bat 100 times in a minute.
Then he slows down.
Is that a bad thing? Or a good thing? Do you get my drift?0 -
Do you get my drift?
not a frigging clue....0 -

nope me either
What I will say though is your "budget" is to continue the weight loss i assume? If that is the case, set your goals for the weekend to maintain your loss which will give you more calories to play with as a start but then also remember you don't do this sort of thing every weekend any more so go out and enjoy yourself and have some time off worrying about every single calorie you eat and drink.
Think of this as a long term life change not a quick fix and weekends off will make alot more sense :drinker:0 -

Hi Everyone,
Thanks loads for your help and your suggestions!
You're right - just a bit more self control and thinking of the bigger picture will be a big help i think.
