What should my daily calorie intake be for someone who is 31 years old, 5'1", 150.6lbs (goal weight 120-125lbs) exercise is def 2 times a week for 60min plus extra exercise here and there but not always a definite. Definitely need to work more exercise in and once the Holiday Showdown starts thats what I plan on doing. Every time I put my stats into mfp it always brings me down to 1200 calories but I don't want 1200 calories lol

About 2240 to maintain. About 1740 to lose 1 lb per week.

Wow 1740 to lose!!!! Seems like such a high number. I boosted myself from 1200 calories to 1400 calories about a month ago and saw no change.0 -
Only you and your doctor can decide. People here should not tell you how many calories to eat.
If you have a lot of body fat reserves you would be surprised at how little you can eat (unless you have emotional eating issues or disorders). The leaner you get the less your body has to draw from and then you have to taper up your calories. There is no such thing as starvation mode for women over 12% body fat or men over 6% body fat. I am a living breathing example of that. I went from obese to now under 12% BF and I've maintained for one year and built muscle the whole time. You don't BUILD muscle in starvation mode, so I proved everyone wrong. And I learned it all from a coach with multiple PHD’s.

It costs nothing to read and listen to their interviews and its fun because they are real like you and I.
A great book has helped many here. It's got low cal recipes, how to properly estimate your calories, how to navigate social events while dieting, and debunks many myths I still see floating around a lot.

(This is NOT about eating junk food! It's about learning to eat for you own lifestyle, vegan, organic, whatever)

All the calories tools and charts are just estimates. You still have to experiment to find what is right for you. You can always notch your calories up or down in 100 calorie increments until you find what is right for you.0 -
