Praying this works out.

Hi! I am new to myfitnesspal. Well, new to actually try and keep it up to date! HAHA. I am 24 and have always been overweight. Even in high school, I played sports, but never got down to a size that would make me happy. I have realistic expectations. I have been a size 18 all my teenage and young adult life and would love to get to a size 12. I am working out 3 times a week.. and even that is hard because I work full-time and go to school part-time. I need all the help and support I can get!

Autumnleann - this is a good step in the right direction! I was you when I was your age, and wish I had started sooner. Hang in there and keep working hard - it will pay off!
I'm praying for you!0 -
Nothing to really pray about, just do it. This will work out if you make it work out, it's up to you.
Welcome aboard, you've come to the right place. This is a great tool that will work wonders. Just take a look at the before and after thread - and remember that the folks with huge successes are just like you, they just started a little earlier. You can do it too, and you will.
This is easy - here's all ya' gotta do:
Cook smart, lotsa good filling stuff. Some fruits, lotsa veggies, some grains-cereals, some starchy stuff, some lean meat. Almost nothing fried (and certainly nothing batter dipped & deep fried), and very very little pastry/cakey stuff.
Count your calories accurately with the food guide here, and stay as close to your calorie allowance as you reasonably can. If you cook properly you shouldn't be too uncomfortable on the calorie allowance MFP will give you.
Get some exercise - work that gym, walk a little every day, something - that's a huge help. Remember to log your exercise and eat at least some (I eat most) of your exercise calories.
And drink your water!
That's it, piece o' cake. Wife and I have been doing it for about 10 months now and we've done well.
You can do it too.0 -
Hey, we have alot in common. I just started too, and even I can see this community is COMPLETELY different from any other I've tried. I have a really good feeling about loosing the weight this time, and you should too. I only wish I was a size 18 Haha, but seriously. Just buckle down and commit and remember that we're worth it and think about how much better we'll feel when we're smaller and have more energy and can fit into cute clothes! I work full time and do school part time too. Its hectic, but theres always a way to work it in somehow. Good luck!0

Hi! Congrats on trying to lose weight. This website is completely easy to navigate and the support you receive from other members completely helped me out when I hit a plateau. I completely get where you are coming from because when I started my weight loss journey in 2007, I was 180 pounds and a size 14 (although I thought to myself as a 12!). Now, I'm a 6-8 and I weight ranges from 139 to 142, depending on the week. Keep it up and you'll just see the results! Good Luck!0

You can do it!!!!
I just read your profile and for one of your inspirations to lose weight you had you want your parents to be proud, as a parent it doesn't matter what size you are I promise you they are already proud of you.0 -
Hey Autumn! You CAN do this! When I was in college I ate my miserable self up to a size 24! After I graduated I buckled down and now I'm a 12 - the smallest I can remember being even as a teenager, YIKES! If you ever have any questions or anything, let me know! Best of luck!!!0
