Fiance put on steroids

My fiance has been put on steroids by his doctor due to a heart problem. As it is, he is currently very overweight, and he's been trying to lose weight by having 'everything in moderation' and moderately increasing his exercise regime. But the news of the steroids has got me panicking. What kind of foods can I be preparing to make sure that he continues to lose weight, rather than pile it on, as can be the trend with steroids.
I understand lean meats are a must.
I'm just asking for some recipe ideas, and more importantly some snack ideas.
Thanks for your help!

Different type of steroid hun.
There are ANABOLIC and ANDROGENIC steroids and ANTI INFLAMMATORY steroids (to be specific glucocorticoids). Your partners will be of the latter.0 -
I was also put on anti-inflamatory purpose steroids but actually lost weight. The issue for me was being prepared for the increased hunger. Not sure about long term use though. I was on them for almost a year and weaning now. I avoided taking them because of the fear of getting even heavier. I was wrong and they helped me a lot (just as my specialist told me).0

I have been on prednisone for two weeks now.. It hasn't necessarily made me hungrier, but I'm nauseous all of the time (definitely not pregnant) which makes me nibble on crackers and such because it makes my stomach feel better. That has led to me eating more, and potentially gaining weight (or not being able to shed any). I'm tapering off the med now, so hopefully once it's out of my system I will be back to normal and I can get back on track permanently.0

I got the crazy hunger on prednisone but I also had lost about 15 pounds fairly quickly from illness before I started eating again - so some of the hunger could have been from a reaction to that. In your shoes, I'd just keep healthy foods around (lean meat, veggies, fruit etc) and try not to have ANY high-calorie snacks in the house.
I wish I had better advice but I did not cope well. I was too tired to cook and wound up with fast food a lot.0
