I love the show Chopped! It's a cooking show where four chefs are given a closed "mystery" basket with seemingly random food items--usually four items. They must concoct a recipe and a dish- in three rounds. (appetizer--entree and dessert) --- including those items within 30 minutes max.

They can use other food items in the pantry or frig---but the four basket items must be --highlighted
I am astonished at what they come up with--most times---it looks so yummy---other times-not as successful

I have these cod steaks----I wanted to jazz em up and REALLY wanted to dredge in flour---but I am not including flour in my food plan--these days--so I looked around and saw four items that were kind of random

Raw sunflower seeds
Fresh parsley
An envelope of guacamole mix
Cod fish steaks

I was inspired by Chopped---they almost always take seeds or dried -whatever and grind it in the food processor!

So--I put the sunflower seeds in the food processor----along with a table spoon of the Guacamole mix
and ground it to meal. Chopped the parsley and mixed it in. It tasted good!
Dredged--coated the steaks in the sunflower seed mix. Pan frying it now in garlic and olive oil. Hopefully it will taste good.

Have you ever made an on-the-spot recipe from a combination of random items -- that came out really good? Can you share your recipe?
