You could window shop while walking. Clean your house. Go dancing. sure your legs will be sore, but not for long. I started in April and played softball. By the time I would get home I could barely get out of my car!! I now can play tennis for 2-3 hours running the court the whole time and I'm never sore anymore. If you don't exercise then you will lose slow, no matter how low your calories are.

@Adini: Because i hate ALL of it. i hate running/jogging gives me shin splints/red face/heart rate out of control/legs hurt/can't breathe. Lifting? Every single i do it i'm sore FOR DAYS. every. single. time. how can i go for a walk or jog the next day when i can barely move?? not many recreational sports for 28 year old females...unless i join one of the 1,000 mens softball leagues...

Start by walking and then add weights. I know you said you're sore after you lift, but you're only sore because you are working your muscles. You can swim, jump rope, climb stairs, bike ride, hike, play frisbee, dance, use a Wii, plenty of things.

A lot of what you say sounds mental and like you want it to be easy. If it were, none of us would be here.

    Best of luck to you.

so true, unfortunately. my exercise issues are about 80% mental, as i'm sure if i worked up to it i could do almost every form of exercise eventually...

I'm going to ask what is the composition of your diet? In case I don't get back to it I'd suggest South Beach Diet. It's a high protein, high fiber, low sugar plan and I think it works well for a certain body type. I did it and it works well even without excercising.
