You've lost 17 pounds, which is actually wonderful for such a short time.

Log everything - you're doing that, keep doing it. Measure everything. Stick to your calories.

Work at making your diet systematically healthier. So more food from the outside aisles in the supermarket - fresh produce, frozen veggies with no sauces or added salt/sugar, milk, cheese, meat fish. Go for less processed grains (brown rice, whole what flour, oats).

Protein - peanut butter, nuts, etc. will make you less hungry.

If you have cravings for specific things, eat them. Just not a lot. You're dying for chocolate? Have a spoonful of chocolate ice cream.

    Make your portions small.

    Good luck!

    You can do it here!

Make sure you log EVERYTHING. Every little bit of something you eat and drink to ensure you are tracking properly. Ensure you are enough enough calories and the right calories (have some of the "bad" things but ensure you fill up on protein, veggies, etc). Get moving even if it's only a 10 minute walk. Whatever you do for exercise each week try to add more.

    Best tips I've learned...

    1) Start slow. Make small goals. You don't want the process to feel overwhelming. Start with small goals of 5lbs, today I will drink x glasses of water, today I will trade ( name of unhealthy food ) with (good food).

    2) Learn substitutions. Love a certain recipe or dish at the restaurant? Learn how to make it at home for much less calories. I did this with Buffalo Chicken Fingers that I always ordered when going out. I learned how to make them at home with chicken breast, crushed up "healthy" crackers and some hot sauce.

    3) Read all you can on nutrition. Don't read the "diet" books that tell you to cut out a certain food or food group (unless you have medical reasons to do so). Read about food, research it.

    4) Make your food at home. It is much cheaper and much healthier for you. Miss going out to dinner with friends? Invite them over for a dinner party. Make the food and have them bring some sort of healthy side dish or drink.

    5) Don't try to change too much at once. It just becomes too overwhelming and difficult.

    6) Weigh/measure your food and drink. You'd be surprised at how small/large portions can be for certain foods. This also helps you track more accurately.

    7) Do some form of exercise everyday... even if it's a quick 10 minute walk. Make a goal to add 5 minutes each week to whatever you do if you are new to exercising.

    8) Don't be too strict with yourself. Allow indulgences so you don't binge and end up falling off track.

    Good luck!

I am trying to do this just by eating less and exercising. I know if I try to diet that I will not stick to it. I am losing a pound or so a week, which is slow going but at least I am going down and not up anymore. I also have 100 + pounds to lose.

If I do eat over my calories, I try to exercise more to combat it. I use my stationary bike and wii fit active a lot. I also am still learning all the changes that I need to make, but am taking it slowly.

I have tried other things, but this has been the best so far.
