Where were you 10 years ago? What were you focused on then versus now?

10 years ago, I was a pastor's wife. We had taken several missions trips to South America and I was planning on getting out of the military and eventually preach (alongside my then-husband) in the interior of Suriname. My focus then was becoming financially independent enough to be able to do this perpetually without having to come back to the States and beg for money.

Interestingly, health and fitness were not high on my concern list (except for the required minimums to stay in the military).

Right now, my focus is on building a good life for me and my son and preparing for his future success (which also means taking good care of my body and ensuring I am financially provided for in my future years).

    How about you?

Ten years ago I was blowing my little pay check on bars as I had just turned 21. My only focus was on getting wasted and having fun. Today, I'm focused on where I want to be in my career, what kind of man I want to be to my significant other, and the kind of example I want to set for the young ones closest to me. Being healthy and strong are my focus.

  • Ten years ago, I had just buried the body of my children's daddy. My husband of almost 8 years. my children had just turned 3 and 5. I was a widow at age 37 with 2 young children. I had to go back to teaching full-time and put my babies into school. Today, my children are soon to be 14 and 16 and they are the extremes of who I am! lol!!

I teach at a parochial school that is 5-7 minutes away from the school they now attend and we are totally blessed by God. My daughter is happy. My son is maturing... I am getting married to a wonderful God-fearing man! I am in love with him and he is in love with me! :D Life is truly blessed and a blessing to me!

Oh, and I am 15 -20 pound lighter! lol!!! depends on when you start subtracting from! I also look better and feel better! some of the teachers I work with say I actually look 10 years younger than I am, so I guess time stood still in the case of my body? lol!!!

10 years ago I was planning my wedding, and hoping to get pregnant asap....................now I'm about to celebrate my 10 year anniversary (but honestly marriage loses it's appeal real quick) and trying to get my kids to school every day asap as they drive me crazy.

Ten years ago I was 13 years old and hating my life. Middle school was horrible. I was picked on daily and whenever I defended myself I got into trouble. I had very few friends and considered suicide often. I wanted to know why I was different and three years later I got my Asperger's Diagnosis, which helped a lot...until they gave me the antidepressants. Now I'm off the pills and feeling better than I ever have. :)

Now I'm focused on saving up money so I can get a car and finally learn to drive (college put a delay on that, can't afford it all at once!) and then save up to possibly move out and get my own place or move in with the boyfriend, whichever works out best job-wise. Oh and getting healthier than I ever was post-puberty. That would be nice. :)

I was in my first year of university...living in residence, partying every night, not sleeping enough, eating ridiculous things....but I had a great time! Working out consisted of cardio at the gym or on the dance floor!

I was 16 years old and my family had just moved to a new town. I was starting a new school in my junior year of high school. I hated it and had a hard time adjusting as I'm a fairly reserved person: I'm fine with talking to people as people don't scare me and I'm nice. :) I'm not necessarily introverted, I just don't go out of my way to talk to someone, so this made it difficult to develop close friendships.

I also gained around 50 lbs this year due to inactivity, dislike of my school and peers, and bored eating.
