Do you tend to go by this? What's the research behind it?

The thing is that I've been sick on and off for a few weeks now, and DH has pneumonia. So, between those two things, I haven't had much exercising going on (like I usually like to do). Would it be okay to just watch my food a little more closely until I can exercise again?

Yes, and you can do your own research on this. Log a double cheese burger from McDonalds, and then see how much excersise it will take to get rid of it. A better example would be soda. In most cases the math will tell the story. I tell people who as about my weight loss that you can't out excersise a bad diet.

You won't lose as fast w/o excersise, but it is possible to lose without it.

So true - one of my friends had a heart attack in his forties. He ran every day and thought he was pretty fit but his diet was atrocious. His LDL was around 7 :noway: The sad part is, for a while he was really good about his diet but now he's back to his old ways
