I had gall bladder removed in 2009. Last year I had two bouts within 8 days that resulted in two er visits. I've had colonoscopy and numerous tests telling me I have IBS. My GI doctor has me on a low dose of amitriptyline (anti depressant that in low dose is used for IBS) I recently started back on this after several weeks of persistent pain. After 8 weeks I've put on about 13 pounds. Was told to cut the dose in half to hopefully reduce the weight gain. My pain just comes and goes now and is tolerable (always at my left hip bone), nausea and bloating. I have found no food triggers other than raw veggies. So I try to stay away from those. Anyone else take meds for this? What do you take? I'm also on Levsin as needed for the pain.
I'm frustrated because I worked so hard to lose the weight and am now going the wrong way on the scales.
