How do you log your workout calories, if you don't know how many you burned? Like I have some apps on my I pod, and I have NO idea, how many calories I am burning when I am doing them.....

Maybe you can find the exercise you are doing in the database on here if you search for it. The best thing would be to get a heart rate monitor....best investment I have made! No more guessing!0

This. It's the only way to really know for sure. Even most of the estimates on here are a guesstimate.
Also, from everything I've read, the ones with the chest strap are generally the most accurate. More features = More money. I just bought myself a decent one off of Amazon for about 40 bucks.. a nicer one like the Polar FT4 is about 65 or so.. when you get into the Garmins and Motorola ones, those are in the hundreds, but have tons of spiffy features.0 -
most people are in agreement that MFP overestimates calories burned when you pull something from the database, so I usually will log only about 75%-80% of the actual time I spent to compensate for that.
yes a heart rate monitor is better. it's on my list but, can't afford everything at once!0
