Hi All! :flowerforyou:
I am a 39 year old stay at home mom full time to a 13 year old son and weekends with a 13 year old step daughter as well. I also have an 18 year old son a 19 year old step son and a 22 year old step daughter who don't live with us... oh and a beautiful 4 month old grandson that I look after quite regularly. Start weight was 309 :noway: I have fibromyalgia, arthritis and uterine fibroids that I am refusing surgical intervention on at this moment in time (can be reduced to cured with weight loss and vitamin/herbal therapy). 3 to 5 days a month I am at risk to hemorage and am on strict bedrest (HA! Did I mention I am a stay at home mom?... so atleast MOSTLY bedrest) I have lost some weight before and the fibroids condition was MUCH improved. Put most of it back on and we are at square one again *sigh* Just recently my Fiance was diagnosed with Gout and Degenerative Arthritis High Blood Pressure and High Cholesteral. The numbers were enough to scare the bejeebers outta him and we are on a whole new eating plan. Which is great! We are all eating better! Thankfully when we had left the doctors office we were supposed to go grocery shopping... the cupboards were a little bare, so we decided to do some research and come up with a new staples and basics list. So here I am, about a week in and I have lost 4lbs already. Most of that I think was water because I was just coming off "that time". Gone is the junk, the red meat (I miss you steaks! ) and all the pre processed boxed foods. Hello boneless skinless chicken, fish and tons of veggies and fruit. We read labels, compare and keep track of everything. I know one day we won't have to because it will be habit but until then its what we do. My hunny has been walking 30 minutes a day and once I recover from my "bad time" as I call it I will be joining him. He works over nights and when he comes home he has breakfast and goes for his walk before bed. After dinner my son and I will be doing another 30 minute walk. That along with my daily cleaning and cooking regime is going to be my exercise for now.
So I guess I am looking for people who have similar limits and people who can just kick my butt once in awhile. If I stop doing this... so will my amazing fiance and I signed on to spend a lifetime with him... I want more than a few years!
