I have been using thee Weight WTchers programme and finding its all about playing around for weeks in end about whether to use weekly points etc. if I stick to the calories set using MFT and get a fit bit to eat my exercise calories. Will I definitely lose? I am at the top end if a healty weight for my height but want to lose about 7pounds.

You can't lose weight. You might as well throw in the towel now cause fitbit and MFP don't work

I am using FitBit and MFP and have lost loads (20kgs). I have been on a 1500cal diet and both have helped me to achieve my goal. So i would recommend that u give them both ago--- just eat sensibly and exercise (3x a week). And also try to walk 10,000 steps a day which is not much!

I've been using Fitbit with MFP for 2 weeks now (give or take a couple days). I've been losing weight consistently BUT... I think it's only because I do NOT eat as many calories as Fitbit says I can... I think it's overestimating by 200-300 per day, but obviously, I can't prove it yet, since I'm still losing. I don't want to eat every calorie they say I can just to prove I'm right and they're wrong: i'd rather lose the weight!

But I will say the Fitbit (outside of miscalculating my own calorie burn) has been a HUGE motivator to me! I was surprised to find how much I do NOT move as much as I thought I did. In that respect, the Fitbit is BRILLIANT! I check my steps throughout the day and if I don't have enough, I create more: take the kids or dog for an extra walk, park further away when I shop, do some chore I've been putting off, etc, etc. You may "think" you're being active enough: the Fitbit will confirm it or not.

That piece alone is worth every penny of the $99 spent! And that part has definitely contributed to my weight loss. Just don't trust the calorie-part, that's all... Everything else seems spot-on!

Agree with last poster ... I was eating extra cals fitbit gave me but stopped losing..now I only eat specifically exercise cals if I want. I love the fitbit tho for same reasons and I intend to use it through maintenance to keep moving more even if exercise tapers off.

This is probably sarcasm i'd say. Bit of an odd, unhelpful response whatever it was though, but hey-ho....

In answer to your question, I don't have a Fitbit, but i have been using MFP since Feb of this year and I've lost 48lbs so far. I lost a bit additional to this before i started MFP but not a lot. MFP has really helped me a lot. While there are the odd one or two on here like your unhelpful friend above, most of the people on here are supportive and motivational. I wouldn't use Weight Watchers or any of these other gimmicky things. They're "diets" and DIETS DON'T WORK. Its about changing your eating habits for life.

Add me if u need support.
