Vericose veins-Tell me your treatment

So I have one leg with pretty bad varicose veins. I have been told by my doctor that I need to have something done to take care of them... I am calling for an appointment today with specialist. If anyone has had treatment for them, do you mind sharing the treatment type?? Was it really bad, easy ect? Are you happy with results? Not sure if this is the right board to post on lol. Didnt really know where else to put it!
