Healthy Irish foods?

Hi all! I just moved to Ireland for a few months (Galway, to be exact!) and I haven't yet been for a proper grocery shop. What I'd like to know from those of you in the area is:
What are some cheap and healthy brands to look for?
Is there a better time to buy certain things to get them at a better price?
Is there a better place to buy veggies/fruit than Dunnes?

Sorry for sounding naive, the store is like a maze to me!
